Private and confidential counseling is offered for a variety of concerns, including personal issues, academic difficulties, and career uncertainty.

Academic - Academic counseling offers U of MN students the opportunity to meet with a counselor who specializes in helping students improve academic performance. Academic counseling provides students help by:

Discussing specific academic concerns and
Offering suggestions to improve academic performance
Students who are looking for support in creating effective and efficient systems for reaching their academic goals can access academic success courses and academic skills coaching through Tutoring and Academic Success Center (TASC). TASC also provides self-help materials to help you be a successful student, manage your stress, and develop the life skills you need.

Career - Career counseling offers students the opportunity to identify possible career paths that fit their interests and personality. The counselor will help students by:

facilitating career or interest assessments, including the Strong Interest Inventory (SII)
offering resources and guidance to obtain educational and occupational information relevant to their skills, interests, personality, and values.
Providing support with the decision-making process.
