The University Community Response Team (UCRT) is an interdisciplinary group of University of Minnesota campus and community professionals who provide brief grief intervention to groups of students impacted by the loss of a fellow student. The focus of these interventions is to provide an emotionally supportive holding space to process the loss, provide psychoeducation around grief and loss, and to provide professional counseling referrals when and if appropriate. Examples of groups served include residence halls, classes, academic departments, student organizations, and athletic teams. Team members are drawn from mental health professionals, community clergy members, and student affairs professionals.
